Procedure

In order to prevent SPAM on our system and we request that you use the MoEY bulletin to get our contact details. You will need to email the Zyqual's admin team with the details requested.


In order to register your school, you will need to contact the Zyqual Admin Team. You can find our details on the Ministry of Education bulletin. Please choose two members of staff to be admin for your school.

You will need to email us from your Ministry's Email Address.

Zyqual's admin team will contact you to verify your details before acces is given to the platform. Once we verification is complete, your school and relevant persons will be booked for training.

Regular Teacher Account

A quick Overview of a regular teacher's account. This will show you what is available and what the teacher can do.

Standard Observations - Lesson Observations

This type of observation or data capture form can be configured to meet many of your school's needs.

You can create specific lesson observations to other school monitoring or pupil feedback forms.

Appraisal Management

This is one of the most useful feature Zyqual has to offer. This is called average observation on Zyqual. All teachers are now able to store their appraisals forever in digital format. Evidence can be uploaded to support each GP and standard. Heads of Departments and Principal's no longer need to do any calculation. The system will do all calculations ensuring for accuracy and speed.

 

 

Individual Professional Development Plan

This feature allows for many forms of data collection but the main purpose is to strengthen the capacity of the Jamaica Teaching Council in the provision of targeted professional development offerings through the collation and analysis of planning data to identify priority professional development needs to support nationally agreed development goals.

 

It is aimed at:

Fostering the use of self-assessments by teachers to assist in identifying areas they deem in need of professional development through reflections on yearly appraisal activity as well as projections of their career growth path.

 

Empowering schools to develop and utilize Individual Professional Development Plans to offer targeted sessions during National Professional Development Days activities.

 

Supporting the Educational Officers who act as conveners in identifying and organizing professional development activities that are targeted at the specific needs of the teachers within their Quality Education Circles (QECs).

 

 

Benefits of implementing the Individual Professional Development Planning programme are:

i. The introduction of a quantitative approach to the identification of training needs that is supported by ICT.
ii. An improvement in the learning outcomes of students as teachers will seek to access development activities that are targeted to specific teaching standards.
iii. Enabling teachers in practising the tracking of their development in preparation of future licensure activity that Council will embark on.
iv. Promoting professional development activities on a national level that are data driven.

 

Lesson Plan

This section is currently under construction and is being developed to meet your needs. Education Officers are currently testing and we look forward for their feedback so we can fully improve to meet all teachers and pupils needs.

Managing Users, Roles & Settings

Python will automatically decide what type of data a variable should be, sometimes this isn’t right, therefore you will have to convert/cast variables to a different data type.

 

Change System System Settings

Depending on the need of the school, the system can be manipulated to hide or show grades to specific persons, hide email notification, or block downloading forms.

 

Importing Observations from Library

Users can use the pre-created lesson observations form stored in the Zyqual's library. Easy for each school to conduct lesson observations based on their need and the data they need to collect.

Creating New Appraisal Forms

The program below will ask the user to enter their weight in kilograms (this could be a decimal) and convert it to pounds. You will need to convert the variable kg to a float before converting it. An example of how you do this is shown below:
